Message from the Secretary General
Dear Delegates and Faculty Advisors,
On behalf of the entire organizing committee, it is my distinct honor to welcome you to the Shishukunj Model United Nations 2017 as the Secretary General. The third session of the Shishukunj MUN will be held at The Grand Bhagwati Palace, Indore from July 20th to July 22nd 2017.
Albert Einstein once said, “Everybody is a genius; but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” Ladies and gentlemen, the world has progressed. Today, we need people who have a critical as well as a creative school of thought. We don’t just need another set of engineers who would design the next iPhone or doctors who would find the cure to cancer, but also diplomats who would be able to solve the international crises at hand.
A Model UN is a unique opportunity for students to build their métier in the field of diplomacy and international relations. At the United Nations, they believe that the youth can craft the most pragmatic solutions to global problems ranging from climate change to warlike situations. We, at the Shishukunj MUN, give you a forum to better the chequered future of the global community.
Building on the ideals of the Shishukunj philosophy, the Shishukunj Model United Nations 2017 is a conference where you can reimagine the globe and make an impact. Under the banner of this conference, we bring to you nine diverse committees that will cover a wide array of geographical areas and time periods while being in concurrence with this year’s conference theme- Revitalizing and Reinventing the Force of Humanity. The topics we will discuss range from issues pertinent in today’s world to major historical turn-ups. In our vision of an exact UN experience, we are proud to adopt the UN4MUN rules of procedure. With efficient logistics, an engaging media and IP department and an intellectually invigorating executive board and secretariat, I am sure that Shishukunj MUN will be a conference second to none.
Committed to the core educational mission of Shishukunj, the third iteration of the Shishukunj MUN will feature a panel of industry thought leaders and influential personalities who will share their personal experiences and inspire the delegates. It will also give the delegates a platform to interact with leading universities and career counsellors from around the world.
We sincerely hope that the lessons learned at the Shishukunj MUN will make you a better individual and will inspire you to work towards a change. Ultimately, the change that we bring defines our success. Always remember, the world needs you.

Message from the Director General
Dear Delegates and Faculty Advisors,
It is with immense pleasure and pride that I cordially invite you to the third iteration of the Shishukunj Model United Nations Conference as the Director General. We, at the Shishukunj MUN, strive hard to provide our delegates an unparalleled experience.
For me, the seed of Model United Nations was sown in Shishukunj itself, dating back to when I was in grade 9. Now I am a senior who still hasn’t been able to get over his first and only love - MUNing!
The committee rooms serve as the battlegrounds for debates and discussions amongst various delegates, wearing a suit as an armor, fighting hard to protect the interests of their respective countries.
For me, MUNing is a platform to express myself. It acts as an opportunity to gain insight into the art of diplomacy and collaboration while simultaneously enhancing public speaking skills. Most importantly, MUNs have taught me to see the world from a different perspective which enables trust building and hence leads to resolving pivotal issues. The 2017 conference will have committees ranging from the omnipresent Security Council to the Joint Crisis Committee, stipulated with invigorating global issues.
“History will be rewritten, economies will collapse, dynamics will be revolutionized but in the end humanity and peace will prevail at Shishukunj MUN 2017.” With a commitment to provide unmatched comfort and unprecedented debate, my team and I will leave no stone unturned to make these three days of your life imperishable.
